Half cinnamon roll, half caramel sundae.
If you’ve dreamed of pouring a vat of hot caramel over your pancakes, Denny’s newest short stack has your name written all over it. The breakfast-loving diner added three new pancake orders to its menu this year, and one in particular stands out for caramel lovers: the Dulce de Leche Crunch Pancakes, which come with a pitcher of warm dulce de leche-inspired caramel sauce to bathe your hot cakes in.
The buttermilk pancakes have a cinnamon-sugar crumb topping cooked into them, and can be ordered on their own or as part of a breakfast combo. Like all good breakfast combos, it’s served with two sunny-side up eggs and hash browns, as well as bacon or sausage.
As the dessert-inspired name suggests, the pancakes aren’t exactly on the healthy side. Two pancakes (with whipped cream and sauce, mmm) have 1,200 calories, 99 grams of sugar and 33 grams of fat. Maybe go halfsies on these guys.
Denny’s also added Cranberry Orange Pancakes and Peanut Butter Cream Pancakes to the menu. The fruity pancakes have cranberries cooked inside and orange cream cheese icing on top, while the Reese’s-esque ones have chocolate and white chocolate chips cooked inside and peanut butter cream and chopped nuts on top.
All three new items are available now at Denny’s, along with other crazy stacks like Salted Caramel & Banana Cream Pancakes and Sticky Bun Pancakes. PSA: If you’re trying to find something healthy to balance out your meal, these items are your best bet.
