The US diner chain is doing something really special for Christmas
Fans of iconic US diner Denny’s will be pleased to know that the first ever branch to open in the UK, in Swansea, will be up and running before the year is out.
In fact, Denny’s in Swansea will open it’s doors on Christmas Day – but for the city’s homeless community only.
The company’s Instagram account was the first to reveal the good news saying: “A lot of you have been asking when we’re going to be opening our doors for the first time, well now we can tell you…
“We are opening our doors on Christmas Day, but strictly for the homeless people in Swansea. We’ll provide a hot breakfast and a place where they can feel welcome, to those who need it most.”
The American diner is busy preparing its spot in Parc Tawe, which is currently undergoing major redevelopment work. The official opening is expected to be in January.
The sign has been placed outside their new home as shown in the photo below, between Toys R Us on the left and Plantasia on the right.
Famous for always being open and only closing when “required by law”, Denny’s could take a similar approach in the UK.
Food wise, it’s known for big American breakfasts, which include stacked pancakes and grilled breakfast sandwiches.
