Arby’s at CenterPlace undergoing construction, to open mid-September

Greeley will get its second Arby’s location in city limits by September if construction for the project goes according to plan.

The national fast-food chain started construction on the 2,600-square-foot drive-through restaurant earlier this month where a lot of recent development has been built in the north CenterPlace shopping center. It will be located at 4413 CenterPlace Drive, sandwiched (pun intended) between food chains Panera Bread and Dairy Queen.

The brand is best known for its meaty roast beef sandwiches and seasoned curly fries, alongside many other menu items. There are more than 3,300 restaurants within the brand, with more than 350 of those owned by the Tulsa-based United States Beef Corporation.

The company is the one spearheading the Greeley project and is the largest franchiser of Arby’s in the country, according to John Maybry, the site development project manager for the company. He said the CenterPlace Arby’s is slated to open Sept. 11 of this year, which ultimately is dependent on delaying factors such as the weather or contractors not meeting deadlines.

CenterPlace was chosen because of its high-traffic location, said Fred Fleischner, spokesman for United States Beef Corporation.

Fleischner said the site is about 5 miles south of Arby’s on 10th Street, putting enough space between the two locations. It also should draw traffic from U.S. 34, which connects folks driving from Interstate 25 or U.S. 85.

“The CenterPlace of Greeley development draws people from all over Greeley, with a wide variety of retail shops, hotels, car dealerships and restaurants,” Fleischner said in an email. “The development still has much more room for growth in the coming years with even more traffic generators, so it was very attractive to us.”

City Planner Marian Duran said developers first approached the city with plans for an Arby’s in January of last year, and the plans were finalized in February of this year.

Arby’s will join the string of new fast-food options in CenterPlace, where a Good Times Burgers and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop opened earlier this year.
