After about a year of planning and preparation, the new Arby’s in Laurens opened its doors for business on Monday morning. The first sandwich went out the door just after 10am.
The Laurens Arby’s is a franchise of the Newberry Restaurant Group, owned by Jake Rasor. The company owns 23 restaurants including Arby’s, KFC-Taco Bell and KFC-Long John Silver’s in Georgia and the Carolinas.
“We opened with a line from the register to the door,” said Patty Patton, the director of Arby’s for the Newberry Restaurant Group. “We love to see that.”
The restaurant is a new concept for Arby’s that includes a streamlined workflow for preparing food, according to Patton.
Arby’s is currently staffed with 46 employees and Patton said that all but one is from Laurens County. The manager was brought in from another store to run the Laurens location.
Arby’s is located on Exchange Drive, next to Zaxby’s. They are open seven days a week from 10am-10pm.
