Drivers along Skibo Road are starting to see more development in front of the Burlington and Academy Sports + Outdoors stores.
Earth has been moved, and Player Inc.’s new construction permit — for an estimated $2 million — was approved by the city of Fayetteville for what will become a Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery at 2116 Skibo Road. Richard Player, the company president, said the project is just getting started but is expected to move quickly — all dependent on the weather, of course.
Sean Cahill, of Cincinnati, is the franchisee. Player said the construction should be about six months, adding, “That’s fairly fast.” Cahill said Thursday afternoon an opening date is not set, but assures he’s had Fayetteville on his radar for some time. Cahill has 14 of the restaurants, including one in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The Tilted Kilt, according to the chain’s website, is billed as “more than just a restaurant, and so much more than a sports bar.” Thirty draft and bottled beers are available, an “extensive spirit collection,” and year-round pro and college sports on HD screens.
Tilted Kilt is also known for “World Famous Tilted Kilt Girls.”
The restaurant is ticketed for about 7,100 square feet.
According to the chain’s website, Wilmington is the only other North Carolina city with a Tilted Kilt.
