A San Antonio-based massage chain says it has big plans for the Chicago area.
The chain, Massage Heights, says it plans to open 35 locations in Chicagoland over the next seven years.
The company said franchisee Raj Patel will open the first location in Illinois — in Naperville — this summer. Additional cities include Geneva, Orland Park and Schaumburg, the company said.
“We’re incredibly eager to bring the concept to the Chicago market and look forward to elevating the lives of residents through mind, body and spirit,” Patel said in a statement.
Massage Heights will be going up against much bigger chains, like Massage Envy, which has more than 40 massage locations in the Chicago area.
Massage Heights is part of the San Antonio holding company Elevated Brands, which includes The Gents Place, which is a Dallas-based mens’ hair cutting chain.
The San Antonio Business Journal reported that Elevated Brands has recorded 20 percent year-over-year growth.
